Exercise during pregnancy has many health benefits for both Mum and the unborn baby, but remember this is not a time to get fit. At Golsby Personal Training I will be maintaining your current level of fitness and will also work with the postural muscles that will be affected by the change in your shape as baby develops. Working on these muscles will help to maintain your balance and a healthy back.

Remember the better shape you are in before pregnancy the more likely you are to fall pregnant. Statistics suggest that the better shape you are in during pregnancy the shorter your labour will be, your baby is leaner and healthier, you will be healthier throughout your gestation period and you will get your shape back after birth.
When baby arrives you will want to get back into shape as quickly as possible. There are a few key things to watch out for. Wait for the 6 week check up. Don’t over do it. Be careful stretching. Your body still has a hormone called relaxin in it. This relaxes ligaments and tendons to help with birth, so vigours stretching may cause damage.
