‘I joined the Weybridge Health Club having been a member of another local gym the previous year. In that previous year I had started off with great intentions but it just never happened. I lost my motivation and just thought that gyms and the whole fitness lark was not for me.
Having heard good things about Weybridge Health Club, I decided to give it another try. When I joined I my induction was with Carol and expected the same as my previous experiences. Not at all, this was different – I was motivated.

I had the good fortune to meet Carol in June 2009 when she was appointed as my PT instructor at the Weybridge Health Club. Carol took time to understand my specific situation and was shown the letter from my Osteopath outlining my problems, and after a brief conversation between both parties she understood what my limitations were and what I needed to do. The plan Carol created met my needs perfectly in detail and recommended how often I was to perform my workout. My Osteopath was more than happy with the plan when he was shown it. With regular reviews, she altered my workout and either changed the plan or upgraded the moves accordingly. Within weeks I was able to sleep through the night without the constant pain I used to have that kept me awake. My osteopath has also noticed a significant improvement as a result of this plan when treating me, and is very pleased with the results.

I can honestly say that Carol’s instructions and training plan has improved my mobility and physical ability enormously. She has become someone I trust and respect for fitness advice and would recommend her to anyone with those needs. I would recommend Carol to anyone without any hesitation at all.

I met Carol through work and we started running together at lunchtimes. At first I didn’t have any goal other than improving fitness, but with some careful coaching from Carol, I realised that I had the potential to run further (and a little bit faster) than I thought. I ran my first 10k race with Carol – that at the time being the furthest I had ever run. In the year following the start of my training alongside Ms Golsby, I entered and completed 3 half marathons, along with a few other shorter races. I lost weight and felt fitter than I ever had before. I have yet to enter a marathon but that is only a matter of time.
Carol’s style is consultative rather than dictatorial, and she is also very intuitive, able to give the right advice at just the right time (for example, half way up a hill when you need it most!). I’ve got some really handy tips up my sleeve now for when things get a bit tough. She thinks about the complete picture – advising on stretching and complementary activities as well as running technique. I’ve heard she does great sports massage too, but her other advice to me has stopped me from getting any injuries so I’ve never needed one. Her own level of fitness is of course a huge inspiration and I am determined to remain fit as I get older.
In a nutshell, I can highly recommend Carol as a trainer.
