You may be planning to run your first 5k race or training for the London Marathon. It is important to focus your training, there is a lot of information to be found but it is hard to work out what is right for you. You will need strength work, stamina and endurance, speed work, recovery time etc. What does it all mean and how does it all fit together? 5 Helpful hints for a stress free race day
- Prepare your kit the night before
- Make sure your number is with your kit. Better still attach it to your vest if you are sure of what you will be wearing, oh and don’t forget safety pins
- Read the map, know how to get to the race and how far the start is from the car park. Sat nav is great but……
- Think about the course, what is the terrain, check the weather forecast etc. makes sure you are mentally prepared
- Do not use new kit, especially shoes. Even new shorts can chafe.
